Dear Olga,
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your beautiful performance at Christian's farewell party.
Your singing, especially in French, was such a touching and heartfelt surprise.
Since I don't have the voice to sing myself, I asked you to do it for me - and you gave so much more than I could have hoped for. With your voice, your emotion, your presence you touched everyone in the room. Many had tears in their eyes, including me.
It meant the world to us.
Thank you for your gift, your warmth and the love you shared through music.
With all my love and gratidude

The band was an excellent addition to our 10-year anniversary celebration on the Panta Rhei. Their relaxed, feel-good sound perfectly captured the summer mood and really elevated the atmosphere on board. They played a wide variety of songs that appealed to all age groups, and our guests genuinely loved the vibe they created. Communication with them was effortless throughout the entire process – very friendly and reliable. We couldn't have asked for a better musical backdrop for our event and would definitely recommend them!

ABOUT
''Olga is an extremely insightful teacher. She has lifted my skills far beyond what I thought I could achieve thanks to her natural musical ability, perseverance and positivity. I couldn't ask for a better teacher.''
-Andrew Myre, singing student ,New York

A versatile vocalist specialising in pop, rock, jazz, soul, alternative, trip hop , funk and blues as well as musical theatre, tango and cross over genres, Olga has been a vocalist and violinist since she was 7 years old, participating over the years in various collaborations with singer songwriters and bands composing original music, reinterpretations of popular covers in cover bands and duos, classical, folk and rock choirs, opera ensembles, orchestras , theatre and musical theatre performances.
Olga has extensive experience as a session singer, as a songwriter and as a performer along with her experience as an ensemble/band leader and violinist. Furthermore she has trained in Popular Vocal Performance and Production at The London Centre of Contemporary Music in London where she was awarded a BMUS (Hons) and in music pedagogy at Middlesex University, London where she was awarded The Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Music.
Upon watching Olga perform one is instantly allured by her expressive vocal and the vulnerable yet tempestuous honesty with which she expresses the lyrics making each song her own.Having a 3 octave range and having received training in various styles of music along with years of experience, Olga can adapt to a variety of genres and sing in the original style of the piece, improvise or re-arrange a song into something completely new and unexpected.Olga also teaches small workshops (pop/rock bands and choirs) and works as a vocal coach on a one-to-one basis.
She has proven adept in helping people with vocal problems or vocal strain, having suffered from GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) and a resulting nodule herself in the past and having not only sung professionally and taught despite her vocal problems but also overcome them. The lessons focus on relaxing the throat, tongue, jaw and body, finding vocal freedom, resonance and power through mastering and understanding technique and breathing while also nourishing expression and diversity through studying a variety of styles and unlocking each individual's original voice, steering away from mimicking the original artist.
Olga believes that anyone can sing and that the key is to help her students get in touch with their true selves and with their honest expression. She often uses yoga and meditation techniques as well as some simple acting exercises in order to help her students "unlock" their emotions and unleash their voice.
Finally Olga also has substantial experience working with children and teenagers in a secondary music classroom and extra curricular activities (including choir, orchestra and rock band). She has helped teenagers find their voice and broaden their tastes to other styles of music, to prepare for auditions and boost their creativity with songwriting lessons. She has even helped people acquire a sense of pitch and musicality from scratch, get over speech impediments , stage fright and performance anxiety. Some students have made the leap from high level amateurs to professionals , some of which have competed in small and large scale competitions such as the X-Factor and the Voice as well as local competitions.
She is currently working in Zurich as a vocal coach and singer. She is performing as a tango singer with pianist Robert Schmidt , lead singer in the event band The Shindigs, party band Kolor8, cover duo Away with the Clouds and various other collaborations. She also gets hired for one off events and session work in the studio.
In 2017 Olga continued her classical training with soprano Katia Paschou and was part of the KPP project which trained young opera singers to perform a role in the performance ''The Show Must Go On" at the B. & M. Theocharakis Foundation for the Fine Arts & Music. She then continued her training in Zurich with Jane Thorner Mengedoht from 2018 to 2023 and participated in yearly performance workshops with Jane and Davide Thorner. She also performed with the Zurich English Speaking Theatre (ZEST) in Autumn 2022 in ''Bridges of Madison County'' and Berkoff's short play ''Lunch'' and in ''Hitler's Tasters" with White Rabbit Theatre Company.

Group singing classes
Beginner/intermediate
Group singing classes offered for beginner/intermediate students on Tuesdays at 19.30pm.
For singing students that have a little singing experience but need to work on building the fundamentals:
-breath support
-range awareness
-voice type awareness (what song do I pick for myself, what is my range?)
-twang
-chest voice
-head voice
-loosening the jaw and relaxing uncontrolled constrictions (muscles in neck and face that help to form consonants can really block the voice when not trained).
The class is small, up to 5 people, so I can focus on you as a group and as an individual. I select songs that match the students' taste as much as possible and that promote learning on the selected topics.

My teaching philosophy
I believe that anyone can sing as it is as natural as speaking and breathing! Saying that most of us upon going to our first singing lesson realise that we only know how to shallow breathe and squeeze the life out of our throats hoping that our voice will magically make it through the song. Many students speak with a very low soft palate and have no idea that you can even lift it. That's something that also greatly effects the singing voice.
Stress and rushing around have detached us from our natural rhythms and our natural way of being. Our posture also suffers from the moment we start walking and I've even seen trained dancers or athletes with tension in their shoulders, waist and lower abdominals, which hinder relaxed breathing and thus relaxed voice production.
I have spent years overcoming most of these issues and I draw from my own experiences and training, as well as yoga, pilates, acting and meditation when trying to help my students get in touch with their real voice - which can only happen upon unleashing the imagination and expression we had as children and getting back in touch with our true selves. You can leave the mask at the door and put it back on for work and situations that need care. When we sing we express our truth - which is why each of us finds expression in different pieces of music and genres.
I am open to teaching you any song that expresses you and I find that students intuitively choose the right song for where they are at.
I also use speach therapy methods in my lessons. If your speaking energy is low there isn't much hope for your singing! I like to mix it up so it's not boring and so my students understand the point of the exercises so we apply what we have learned on a song , even if the student is only ready to sing a few words or a line.
I also have the same attitude towards pitch. Anyone can eventually learn to hear pitch - it takes work but you can, it has been done!

Singers I have coached Work/Links

Alice was having lessons with me in London for a couple of years. She was the backing singer of "Devil say dance" and she was in the musical "Seven Letters" performed by an all female cast at the Tabard Theatre in Chiswick, London.

I taught Lorien over 10 years ago back in London. We worked together as models for Wella Trend vision and it was on tour that I discovered how beautiful her voice was and convinced her to have lessons with me. After just a year of lessons Lori found her confidence and voice and she was finally convinced that she could work as a singer. Sometimes we just need someone to push us in the right direction and to believe in us!
She currently lives in London where she collaborates with many music projects. In addition to performances, she has worked in the recording studio on many albums and film scores. Her unique style is influenced by world music and she is known for her raw emotional style of singing.

Some snippets of how I teach songs and give feedback.
Lesson 1: Price Tag - Jessie J
Lesson 2: Rivers - Tallest man on earth
Lesson 3 : Cry me a river (jazz standard)
Lesson 4: Forgive me ( musical theatre)
Beginners
This is actually a video of me teaching Eliza for the first time! I don't have a "textbook" way of teaching , I try to gage what the student can already do and use it to approach "the unknown". I have a few exercises that you will see repeated in the videos but I alter them depending on the student or improvise and make up new ones.
I like to keep it quite friendly , this helps students to feel comfortable and non judged when singing, which is important as singing to someone can be nerve wracking at any level!
We have already had a lesson on breath support and in this lesson I am teaching Janette how to start connecting the voice to the breath safely.
Jaw openers and humming simple exercises usually do the trick. A tight jaw usually leads to a closed throat and dropped pallet and all these problems deduct focus from an open voice and breath support and lead to pushing.
Janette has also expressed an interest in learning Nana Mouskouri songs. Since I'm bilingual in English and Greek I'm helping her with Greek pronunciation, translating the lyrics, phonetic spelling etc
Intermediate
Claire is a contralto. She has quite a broad range and I'm helping her access it by opening up her voice so she can have one supported voice throughout. We are working on Jazz standards because they require an acute ear (so good for ear training) and a lot of energy to perform. Through raising her energy levels she will have more access to a full voice and thus more power.
Advanced
This was filmed a few years ago in London. Intermediate level lesson (leaning towards advanced). Romeo has some physical tension issues in the video when trying to "reach" notes, he has managed to resolve alot of these issues since. I use repetition and call and response so the students can start changing their habits and singing behaviour over time, ensuring deep learning and deep rooted change.
Ally is a coloratura soprano (although she hasn't unlocked her full range yet). She came to me with a very small breathy voice and in just a couple of years has managed to make her voice big enough to be heard without a mic in a theatre. We are working on opening up the voice away from a "cute girl" tone which will also help to extend her range. We are also working on ear training for more complex repertoire building.
What my students think..
''Since starting my lessons with Olga my confidence as a singer has soared and my progress has been noted by family, peers and strangers!
Olga has helped me not only to find my voice, but to understand how sound is produced vocally. She has a creative approach and lessons are always productive, fun and interesting. I cannot recommend her strongly enough!'' Alice Taylor , singing student , London
“Olga is a brilliant and inspiring teacher, teaching students at a pace that suits them and with an enthusiasm and passion for their development. Her own musicianship is multi-skilled, teaching several instruments as well as singing. I would have no hesitation in recommending Olga as a teacher” Jamie Shavdia, violin student, London
“I enjoy learning with Olga as she has the ability to adapt as a teacher. She's approachable and flexible around lesson times and does her utmost to be accommodating. In terms of lesson content, she's encouraging, patient and able to find solutions to hurdles the student encounters. She understands the learner's style as well as their preference for different genres, for example, she will research specific materials at the request of the student. She's quite strict on the basics and will challenge the student while taking other aspects of their lives on board. I feel comfortable during the lessons and I'm happy with the progress I've made and this is in no small part due to Olga's method of teaching. “ Patricia Byczek ,skype violin and singing student, France
"After years of unresolved placement problems, working with Olga was a totally different experience to working with any other vocal teachers previously. She identified my vocal issues and crafted each lesson around overcoming them. Without doubt, I am a much healthier and more accomplished singer because of training with Olga.” Jack Martin ,singing student, London
“Starting as a guitar instrumentalist and bedroom hero, it was only a few years ago and several months of backpacking Europe, I was inspired to start singing and shortly after encouraged to step on stage at my first open mic. In fact it was after one of my performances where I first met: Olga Botsi, talented singer-songwriter, up and coming vocal coach and master of developing vocal technique from nothing. Thinking back, it still amazes me what she saw in my voice; knowing what I know now, I cringe whenever i think of how I sung back then... It was through Olga’s keen ear, patience and perseverance that she remained confident I could learn to get to the level I wanted. It was evident from the first few sessions and her story, that she could truly relate to where I was coming from because she had similar issues in the past with her own singing. And this is absolutely one of Olga’s biggest strengths; she can hear, feel and recognise what’s going on with your voice (even through Skype!), because she has gone through it herself! Having a talented singer as a teacher is one thing, but also having someone who has walked the path and can describe in a relatable way (/brainwash hehe) the right technique and the correct mouth, jaw, tongue positions (with techniques known as - ’the pav’, ’tent’, ‘lock jaw’ and ’the flap’) is just beyond words how beneficial it is (for you!). Her lessons are always fun, but she knows how to focus and get the most out of you - she is a great teacher who has the perfect mix of pushing you to your limits and encouragement. I will be forever grateful that I found her when I did, before I lost my voice or worse, made irreparable damage to my vocal chords! It’s rare that I share this with you now: she is my secret weapon. If you truly want to find your own voice, and one that is healthy, yet powerful, I can’t think of a better person to recommend - if you’re serious about improving your voice Olga will be a life changer. “ Romeo Sison Cabrera, singing student ,London
"I've had singing teachers before but no one as great as Olga! She really understands the way I learn and is great at explaining things. I find her lessons really relaxing after a stressful day at work because she helps me with breathing. It's almost like a yoga class! Olga is very flexible and fun to work with and the Skype lessons work surprisingly well! Can't recommend her lessons enough!” Emily Andrews, singing student, London
Christina Mimilidou, singing student, Athens
''I started my singing lessons over a year ago. Now while I might not yet be singing like the rockstar I like to picture myself as I can now quite comfortably hit notes which is a miracle considering my family is cursed with vocal misfortunes. As if this is not enough a compliment to Olga's teaching the fact I look forward to every lesson is due her fun loving nature that makes an hour lesson pass in seconds!'' Felix Roesdahl, singing student, London
''When I first started taking singing lessons with Olga I could sing but I lacked confidence, power and range. Using personalised exercises and picking songs that help me target particular issues, Olga has been able to extend my range and combat my issues with power. Her lessons are very focused on my individual needs, I never feel like she is teaching me from a text book. She is able to work out where my problem areas are and adapt the lesson, coming up with inventive ways to get me to the next level. Singing and music theory is not something that I need from the sessions but when I want something explained in those terms she is able to go through it with me in a easy and understandable way.
My lessons are always fun and never boring, I started off doing lessons in person and now take lessons via skype and the quality has not dropped at all. After years of singing quietly to myself in the car I am finally getting the confidence to show off my singing talents and I couldn't have done it without her! She is awesome!'' Claire Justin, singing student, London
"I am very thankful for having the experience to be in workshop/lessons with Olga. As a violinist and vocals teacher she definitely have a way to share her passion and love about music. She can adapt very easily to all personalities and playing styles which is exactly what a student would want from the teacher. I thought that at the age of 26 it would be late for me but Olga managed to encourage me and she made me put all the effort needed. Within months I was really impressed with my personal development and that was thanks to Olga. She could cover a wide range of playing styles and I am sure her teaching style can attract any type of student. From really traditional greek to heavy rock and metal. Olga thank you for sharing your talent with such generosity.'' Sotiris Routis, violin student, Athens
